This is a position aiding the Office of Research Development. Areas of specialty may include working with the Streamlyne Program Data Entry, customer service and training process. In addition will support with reports that may include assisting with confidential matters, computer support, and other departments or subject matter specific services, activities or programs.
Duties may include the Administrative IT support responsibility of one or more specific department and activities for the office and/or supporting PRI Research faculty. An employee in this class has full departmental responsibility for ensuring the supporting IT areas of assignment are completed in accordance with laws, policies, and procedures. At this level, employees regularly develop work processes and procedures and may serve IT support for the ORD/OSP directors and/or President of PRI and Faculty members. Must be able to solve problems with discretion and modes be very confidential. The areas of specialty include working with the Streamlyne Program Data Entry, customer service and training process (RedCap). In addition will support with expense reports that may include assisting with confidential matters, computer support, and other departments or subject matter specific service, activities or programs. This position has acquired added responsibilities as IRB/IACUC Streamlyne Administrator and CITI Program Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage incoming calls, handle IT program information requests, and direct calls to appropriate IT personnel.
- Assist in coordinating special IT projects for directors and faculty researchers.
- Train new users on IT applications, specifically Streamlyne and RedCap.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to ensure effective system use.
- Monitor IT processes and track issues using the Streamlyne program, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Perform data encoding, generate reports, retrieve data, and execute specialized and routine computer operations.
- Perform other IT-related tasks as needed to support the department and enhance overall efficiency.
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Familiarity with common software applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or scripting languages).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting steps for connectivity and performance issues.
- Basic skills in data entry and management.
- Familiarity with database concepts (SQL basics).
- Strong communication skills for interacting with end-users.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to provide remote technical support using various tools (e.g., remote desktop applications).
- Open to learning new technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in office
- Bachelors in computer sciences.
